We believe that reasonable people can hold differing political opinions, and that reasonable people can respect each other's opinions. We believe that the healthy debate of complex issues leads to better understanding and better solutions to these problems.

Ann Coulter is part of a minority punditry that replaces healthy debate with invective and namecalling in the absence of fact. Self-proclaimed pundits such as Coulter bring nothing productive to the political table; accusations, distortions, and outright lies are not healthy for our country, our political system, or our soul as a nation.

The rise of 24-hour cable news channels has brought with it a need to fill those 24 hours with… something. Cue the pundits, who are more than happy to show up as talking heads and get paid to deliver, as "fact", their opinions on issues of the day. Very rarely is any attempt made to fact-check these pundits, or to hold them accountable for the sometimes outrageous claims they make.

Obviously we can't fact-check everyone. But Ann Coulter is arguably the worst in terms of slander, plagiarism, gross distortions, and inflammatory calls to violence against those who disagree with her (not to mention an almost pathological obsession with Bill Clinton and his penis). This site, then, is where we set the record straight and factually refute or correct the on-going stream of hypocritical mudslinging she calls "patriotism."
